This Saturday November 3 is Milwaukee Zine Fest at the Falcon Bowl. We will be there if you wanna say hi and pick up a flyer or two.

It was two years ago, as we were headed up to the Milwaukee Zine Fest, that Jami asked, “Would you ever consider running a zine distro?” I have a terrible memory, but a clear vision of this moment is stored away in my brain. The thought of taking on Stranger Danger, a distro I had loved for years, made me feel so incredibly nervous but also so incedibly excited. I eventually said yes (obviously), & it’s been one of the many zine-related things that have changed my life in deep, major ways over the past few years. I am very thankful for the Milwaukee Zine Fest & for Jami & for LB & for this distro & for you. I mean it.

aw this is so cool! it rules that MZF has meant so many different, awesome things to chicago zinesters over the past few years, like how the original 4 organizers decided to organize Chicago Zine Fest 2010 together on the way home from MZF 2009, or that year where we all went in johnny’s van with no seats and had a meeting on the floor on the way back after being stuffed full of fried palomino food. i love milwaukee and MZF, and i can’t wait to be there this weekend and eat all the co-op snacks!

ahh so stoked! also i’ll have copies of my brand new feminism/football zine (with cover illustration by jami sailor!) at this. already thinking about issue #2 & contributors/submissions, so stay tuned for more on that.
